Reduced Emissions

The environmental technology company Sabertec announced plans to launch Blade, a device that reduces hothouse gas emission whilst saving gasoline.

The equipment decreases emissions of hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide, two gases that pose a serious risk to human health.

A second device controls fine particulate matter (2.5 microns in diameter) and can be used on diesel driven vehicles. According to tests carried out by the Laboratory of Experimental Air Pollution, School of Medicine, University of Sao Paulo, the device is capable of reducing the pollutant by up to 70 %.In vehicles powered by gasoline, pollutants were reduced by 35 %.The filter, which works with high sulfur content diesel, does not generate harmful byproducts such as CO2.“In order for Santiago to solve its serious pollution problem, it needs more efficient emission reducing technologies and not just measures aimed at mitigating the symptoms”, said Sabertec CEO Bill O’Brien.
